“Nothing but good to say about these guys. I have several rentals and the furnace started acting up in one of them. My regular heating people could not come out for a few days. I called Sermon and the lady answering the phone said someone could be out the same day. Work was preformed as requested that afternoon. Ted Sermon himself addressed a billing question I had and adjusted it accordingly. I will definitely use Sermon’s again in the future.”

What is RV Plumbing?2024-03-22T10:27:06+00:00

RV Plumbing is one of the many facets of RV ownership. RVs come equipped with several plumbing systems.

There are two types of sinks inside RVs, the kitchen sink and the bathroom vanity (or lavatory) sink. Both sinks have their water supply system with fresh water stored in tanks to provide fresh drinking water and for sinks and showers. The kitchen sink water supply system is usually found under the countertop on the outside of the rig and is connected to fresh water in a holding tank. The bathroom sink water supply system is usually accessed by opening a cabinet door, or drawer, underneath the sink and finding a water line connected to a freshwater tank. With both systems, when you turn on the faucet you will witness, at first, just air escaping from various lines.

How Does RV Plumbing Work?2024-03-22T10:26:25+00:00

When the water supply valves are turned on, the water will enter the fresh water tank and fill up to the level of the holding tank. If you turn on a bathroom faucet, you will see that both lines (bathroom and kitchen) will be flowing simultaneously with air coming out of various lines. This is because air needs to exit from the various lines before water can flow through them.

How to Fix RV Plumbing Leaks?2024-03-22T10:26:02+00:00

Today, many RV plumbing problems can be corrected with less effort. If you have a slow leak in your system, it is generally considered to be a clogged line. To fix this type of leak, you will need to turn off the water supply to the relevant system, walk back to where your leaks are located, replace or add some parts or lines and turn on the water supply again. If you are unsure about doing this type of repair yourself, try a plumber who specializes in RVs.

When trying to repair RV plumbing, you need to first identify the problem. If you suspect that your toilet is leaking and flooding the area beneath it, then remove the tank from beneath the bowl by loosening a few screws or bolts. Inspect it for cracks and replace it if necessary.
