New Construction Plumbing

Construction

Finish construction plumbing is a specialty that many people think of as an afterthought. The truth is, it’s often just as complex as the construction of the building itself. Contractor plumbing can involve any part of a new building from creating water lines to managing sewage. The complexity can range from laying out the piping and drainage lines, to the plumbing fixtures-from kitchen sinks to toilets, or jacuzzis.

Plumbing contractors may also install water-using components of fire sprinkler systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, security/access control systems, elevator safety devices, and electrical wiring for lighting fixtures. In addition to finish construction plumbing contractor responsibilities, many companies also offer full-service plumbing maintenance; including drain cleaning for commercial buildings. Services include drain inspection, drain cleaning, and inspection and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems.

How to Rough in Plumbing

Roughing-in is the process of installing the water, vent, and drain pipes in a new home before drywall installation begins, or in a remodeled bathroom, kitchen, or another area of the home. Roughing in the waterworks is generally considered to be the most complicated part of installing plumbing in a new home because water lines must be installed at the correct depth and location. Plumbing rough-in can be done by your general contractor or for extra money, you may have it done by a professional such as ourselves.

Make sure that you understand what is included in the rough-in price, so there are no surprises later on. If you have any questions about your project, ask to speak with one of our professionals to ensure the rough-in price fits in your budget.

Whatever Your Plumbing Projects Are — We’ve Got It Covered!

Plumbing Stages For Finish Construction

  • Rough-in is the first phase of a plumbing project. The rough-in phase consists of completing the water, vent, and drain systems in the building. The rough-in inspections are done to make sure the work done is correct and that the building’s systems are working correctly.
  • The rough-in testing phase of plumbing is done when the job is finished. If a water leak is detected, repairs must be made immediately to prevent water damage in your home. Plumbing installations under sinks and waste lines usually involve the temporary connection of various pipes into one set of pipes, then connecting it back together properly once you move into your new home.
  • A rough-in inspection is a visual inspection that is done right after the rough-in work is completed. The inspector checks that the pipes and fixtures are in their proper locations and determines if there have been any violations in the plumbing code.
  • The finish work phase of plumbing takes place after the inspection is complete and everything has passed. The contractor usually contacts you to schedule this part of the project.

“Nothing but good to say about these guys. I have several rentals and the furnace started acting up in one of them. My regular heating people could not come out for a few days. I called Sermon and the lady answering the phone said someone could be out the same day. Work was preformed as requested that afternoon. Ted Sermon himself addressed a billing question I had and adjusted it accordingly. I will definitely use Sermon’s again in the future.”
